Job Position
Controller (Operations Support)
Major Responsibilities
  • Develop processes and documentation to fully comply with the IT policy, ISO9001 compliant quality management system and ISO27001-compliant security management system
  • Control the integrity of input, processing and output of systems by proper management of file and backup media versions
  • Maintain production job control statements and parameters, and the same for the production-like acceptance test environment
  • Perform application program promotion to ensure object modules are compiled under a controlled environment and the correct and tested version are being used in production
  • Maintain job scheduling information in an automatic job scheduling software to ensure proper production job sequence is executed automatically
  • Review and maintain the utilization of system resource and disk growth for running applications
  • Maintain properly the tape library management system to ensure correct use, movement and release of backup tapes and that all system and application files are kept backed up properly
  • Investigate and solve production problems relating to job control statements and parameters
  • Maintain up-to-date register of files/backup media stored in various locations, timing and frequency of cycling
  • Review job logs and processing logs to ensure proper job submission/execution control
  • Ensure off-site contingency data and documentation are kept up-to-date at all times Participate in planning and execution of operations acceptance tests
  • Participate in drill planning and execution
  • Act as a focal point of all enquiries regarding change control
  • Maintain adequate stock level for magnetic media
  • Assist the Manager (Operations Support) to develop operations standards and implement operations automation initiatives
  • Develop operations procedures for operations support and application systems

Requirements
  • F.5 education or above preferably with formal training in computer studies;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in operations support or operations control areas;
  • Solid operations knowledge of mainframe, AIX and Windows server environment;
  • Experience in managing job scheduler, tape management software, software migration control software and operations automation tools;
  • Good analytical, writing and communication skills;
  • Able to communicate in written and oral English and Chinese, knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage; and
  • Willing to work shift duty.
