Chief Risk Officer
Major Responsibilities

Directly reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Risk Officer is mainly responsible for the following duties:

  • Assisting the CEO in driving overall risk, controls and compliance strategy of the company, enterprise risk management framework and processes
  • Leading the formulation, development, implementation and maintenance of enterprise risk management framework, processes, policy and procedures
  • Defining the risk appetite and tolerance level for business functions
  • Ensuring that all key risk items are identified and effectively mitigated through implementation of control measures, covering technological risk, operational risk, cyber resilience, financial and liquidity risk, legal and compliance risk, business continuity, third party risk, data privacy risk and reputational risk, etc.
  • Centralising risk management and monitoring processes to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Providing risk management and internal controls advisory to business units
  • Reporting risk related matters to internal and external stakeholders, Board, Risk Management Committee and regulators
  • Collaborating with senior management in formulating and maintaining information technology strategies, control and contingencies policies from risk and security perspectives
Requirements
  • University education preferably majoring in business studies, risk management or related disciplines
  • Minimum 15 years of risk management experience preferably gained from major financial institutions with at least 8 years’ experience at senior executive level
  • Expertise in various aspects of risk management as well as the services and operations of the financial sector, preferably with technology risk background
  • Good knowledge of risk management strategies/policies/frameworks and relevant global/local regulatory requirements
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and management skills
  • Excellent command of written English and Chinese and fluency in spoken English, Cantonese, and Putonghua are essential
