Senior Manager (Cloud Platform)
Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management of the company’s private cloud platform including the support of cloud operation, security and compliance on the cloud platform to ensure high reliability and secured cloud platform and comply with our company’s policies, compliance, regulations and audits.
- Manage a team of internal cloud team with an external managed service vendor to develop, implement, enhance, support and operate the private cloud platform and related infrastructure components based on user / business requirements and technology trends, such as the expansion and enhancement of the platform, new application or system environmental setup, system evergreening, etc.
- Manage to ensure the implementation and operation of private cloud platform with proper technical and resource planning with the supporting vendors and internal teams, as well as well alignment with the platform clients or stakeholders for the maintenance windows, in order to meet the target schedule in particular change management, evergreening, major upgrade, problem handling, disaster drill, etc.
- Manage to provide the technical support and advice to the platform clients or application team including system environmental trouble shooting, infrastructure supporting on application, responding to technical and security enquiry on their system environments or use of our cloud platform, etc.
- Act as technical expert to lead on troubleshooting of any incident or technical issue on cloud platform with vendor and internal supports
- Manage to ensure all documentations, records and procedures are updated properly in time or on regular basis
- Lead the implementation and execution of processes and standards to optimise the use of cloud service, including DevOps and SysOps-related matters.
- Manage to handle all operational and systems maintenance renewal and new solution(s) deployment with proper budgeting, request for proposal/quotation and contract handling, etc., and comply with internal procurement policy and procedure.
- Review the private cloud environment and related operation proactively, and suggest improvement opportunities to the management
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
Requirements
- University degree in information technology, computer science or related disciplines
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience preferably gained from major financial institutions with at least 5 years at managerial level
- Strong experience in managing system infrastructure (e.g. virtualization, computing system, storage, network, container and K8S), cloud management platform, DevOps automation tool, etc.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skill and experience in a complex infrastructure or cloud platform environment
- Strong experience in managing change, incident, problem and release management processes for platform, coordinating with multiple vendors and stakeholders, managing cross-functional dependency, setting quality check standards, and enhancing existing practices
- Experience and skill in designing and implementing automation for operation would be a strong plus
- Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, presentation, documentation and report writing skills
- Good command of written and spoken English, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage
- Candidates with less experience may be considered for a junior position
