Job Position
Architect (Solution Development) – Application Infrastructure & Database
Major Responsibilities
  • Define end-to-end application architecture across cloud infrastructure, databases, middleware, and integration layers
  • Design cloud-native and hybrid architectures (IaaS, PaaS, container-based, microservices)
  • Review solution designs and provide architectural assurance across projects
  • Ensure architectures meet availability, scalability, performance, and DR/BCP requirements
  • Participate in logical and physical database design
  • Review/change schema changes, normalization decisions, partitioning strategies
  • Review application SQL queries, indexes, database parameters
  • Implement DevOps practices (CI/CD for database changes, Infrastructure as Code)
  • Manage cloud database services (provisioning, scaling, cost optimization)
  • Review database infrastructure which should align with application design
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks (slow queries, index issues, locking/blocking, fragmentation)
  • Review and manage application user accounts, privileges, and least-privilege access principles.
  • Ensure data security compliance with regulations
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks e.g. index rebuilds
  • Support database-related incidents on application level
  • Collaborate with application teams and infrastructure teams on database related tasks
  • Create and maintain standards, procedures, runbooks, and disaster recovery documentation
Requirements
  • University degree with over 8 years’ experience in system development or infrastructure setup preferably in financial sector for Architect
  • Familiar with Community Edition Database (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL and ClickHouse)
  • Familiar with CI/CD, DevOps (at public Cloud platforms or on-premises), Terraform, Ansible scripts, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Hands-on in cloud infrastructure setup and database management on Cloud will be a definite advantage
  • Enthusiastic on learning new technology
  • Good technical writing skill
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua preferred
